As trophy cabinets go, no-one in the game can match that in Thierry Henry’s house.

World Cup, European Championship, Champions League, La Liga, Premier League, FA Cup: he’s won the lot.

There’s even a Major League Soccer winner’s medal in there. You wouldn’t want to play poker against Henry. His is the fullest of full houses.

And now he’s retired and taken the Sky shilling (well, the Sky several million quid) we can finally look back and gain some sort of perspective on what he brought to the game.

And he really was as good as it gets. The pace, the goals, the volleying: wow, the showreel of his talents that plays in our mental cinema is magnificent.
